Is there really "free wifi" everywhere in Korea?

As much as I would like to believe all my friends and sources online that says "Wifi is free and can be found almost everywhere in Korea", I must say, that is true to a very limited extent!

FOTD: 알밥, 판메밀

  • 0

알밥 (al bap, in the foreground), which is fish roe mixed rice with vegetables on a hot stone bowl. It tastes similar to bibimbap but is less spicy and really delicious. The soup that came along with it was heavenly! It was somewhat like miso soup, but clear.

Price: 7300 won
Found at: Korean Food Restaurant, Seoul Station, Opposite KTX Ticketing counters

----------------------------------------------------------------

판메밀 (pan memil, in the background), cold buckwheat noodles that is dipped in sweet soup. It is similar to Japanese cold noodles, just that it is sweet instead of salty. Rather nice on the first mouthful but might be easily to get sick of.

Price: 6500 won
Found at: Korean Food Restaurant, Seoul Station, Opposite KTX Ticketing counters

Cafe I'm, near Hankuk University

As expected, it is really hard to keep up with blogging as I travel. I have backlogs for Busan, Ulsan and Cheonan and I am just going to take my time as there are super a lot of things to do. I can't settle down because there are just endless things to explore.

Wan Swen, hwaiting!

So, I was supposed to do some of my work at this Cafe I'm just outside my school but I have to leave soon again to go for cycling at Yeouido Park.

So, updates again later!

SO this is how it feels like...

Exchange might be the best time of your uni life, and could be for mine too. Though it is a short 4 months for me, leaving my family, boyfriend and friends just feels sorrowful to me. Going to be "alone" for the next 4 months, in a foreign place with a new bunch of people. Definitely an experience.

Leaving people you love is hard, even though it is just for a short period.

Will miss my parents, grandma and bf so badly.

Thanks to my dearies for sending me off! I really wasn't expecting any friends to come and thanks to the great lie, I had a pleasant surprise when your faces appeared in front of me :)

I will have a great 4 months, be back soon!

Spotted a heartshape island in Singapore!

Yes, there is sufficient leg space in scoot flight!

10 Things to Do Before Going on Exchange!

  • 0

It's exactly 1 week before I am scooting off to Korea!

I am experiencing mixed feelings about it! I am feeling super attached to Singapore all of a sudden and I can't seem to bear living this lovely city of mine! Moreover, there seem to be endless cafes for me to cover here, and I can't help feeling afraid that by next Jan when I'm back, it's all gone?! I am also feeling excited because I have made plans to travel Busan and Ulsan for the first 10 days before school starts. Also feeling a little sad because my family, boyfriend and super awesome besties and friends from frisbee are making me feel so much belonging to this place and all of a sudden I will be far away from them!

I have been busy for the past 2 weeks preparing for exchange and i believe the following will be a helpful checklist to future exchange students to complete before leaving Singapore!

CREATING IN PROGRESS...

Can't wait for my exchange this August to Korea!
Just keep this space for then!

Korea 2011 - Hongdae, the place bursting with life!

  • 0

Hongdae is one of my most favourite places in Seoul. Hongdae is in short for Hongik Daehakyo, or Hongik University.

It is less commercialized as compared to Myeong Dong, and is a popular spot amongst locals and youths. There are manyyyy things to see in Hongdae, and it homes over hundreds of cafe in just that area!!! I have over 300 photos for the cafes there, and I will be blogging it separately from this post soon.

There are a lot of small shops selling apparel, accessories, gifts, collectibles and there is a free market (flea market) every weekend. There is a great range of food there as well, most popular will be the 고기구이/ barbeque meat restaurants!
